Christ will reign until time has run its course. \u201cThen cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet\u201d (1 Corinthians 15:24-25).Scripture tells us that the present heavens and earth will be destroyed by fire at the close of the Millennium ( 2 Peter 3:12-13; Micah 1:3-4). After the earth has been destroyed by fire, God will establish the \u201cnew heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness\u201d (2 Peter 3:13). The heavenly headquarters for the universe\u2014the New Jerusalem\u2014will descend from Heaven. The redeemed will dwell with God forever, and the new heavens and earth will never pass away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
